Autogenic Training

What is autogenic training?

The method of "concentrative self relaxation" was developed in the 1920's by the Berlin medicine J. H. Schultz and emerged from the experiences with hypnosis and suggestive therapy. It is an auto suggestive technique and occurs in passive self concentration. The Autogenic Training (AT) relies on the fact that the vegetative nerve system by means of the concentrative self relaxation can be influenced and therefore it is possible to intentionally reduce stress.

AT is one of the best-known relaxation procedures and is a recognized preventive measure in the statutory health insurance. It supports with:

Stress prevention - improvement of general condition

Self relaxation - reduction of vegetative tensions
